Hi, I’m Lorraine,
(a.k.a. “Rain”) and I love creating bright, bold beautiful art! I am an artist, writer and illustrator, as well as a wife and (homeschooling) mom living in Colorado! My inspiration comes from the beauty of creation and my faith in God. I love using vibrant colors to depict the joy I find while observing flowers, mountains, and the beauty around me!
My passion is to create art that inspires and brightens up every heart it touches, and every home it ends up in. I think art is an atmosphere-changer, and my art exists to add joy wherever it ends up!
My Art
I have been an artist for many years and have worked with oils, watercolor, inks and acrylics. When I had my kids, I found that acrylic painting was the best way for me to work! It dries quickly so I can work layer upon layer as life’s interruptions happen! Also, I don’t need a separate studio space and no worries about turpentine or other hard-to-clean elements in this season of life.
I have fallen in love with acrylic paintings for their bright colors and the texture I can achieve while working.
Along with bright colors, I also love bold lines, touches of gold, gloss varnish- anything to make the painting POP with beauty and catch the eye!
My Writing
Along with painting, I have always loved the creative expression of writing. Writing and journaling have been simply outlets for me my entire life. I never thought of publishing my writings, but when I had kids, I started writing children’s stories to read to them. My tradition was I would create a book just for them every year for their birthdays!
In 2021 I decided to take things a step further and illustrate and publish my first children’s book. What started as a family tradition has now become another branch of my art business!
Along with children’s books I also love creating journals and coloring books.
